North Providence

Richard P. Norton, 54, of Murrieta, CA, passed away unexpectedly on August 8 at the UCLA Medical Center. He leaves his wife of 18 years, Sandra Norton.

Born and raised in North Providence, he was the son of the late Michael J. and Mary R. (Smith) Norton. He was the assistant golf pro at the Via Verde Country Club in San Dimas, CA.

Richard was a graduate of Johnson and Wales University School of Culinary Arts. He loved golf, cooking, and spending time with his 3 dogs.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his siblings Michael (Lori) of Orgeon, Dennis of Nevada, Jane Mullen (James) of Kingston, and Eileen Hefner (Ted) of North Providence.

Uncle “Dickie” will be sadly missed by his nieces and nephews. Services were held on August 12, in Murrieta, CA. Donations in his memory can be made to the American Diabetes Assoc/Richard P. Norton Memorial Fund 146 Clifford St Providence, RI 02903.
