It is with disbelief that I read of the passing of a childhood friend. I grew up in Elmhurst and attended St Pius and played baseball on the old grounds of Chapin Hospital (now P.C.) and street hockey.

My condolences are with his family at this time. God Bless my prayers are with you.

To the Coughlin family and Coff's friends I meet Coff probably 30 years ago. My meetings with him were usually a matter of chance, but always a pleasure. He seemed to smiling every time. He was a great guy and I'm shocked and saddened to read of his passing. The world is a sadder place with his loss. I hope you find some comfort in him being at peace. There isn't much else to say as words fail me at this time. My condolences to all Art Laurenson

To my Polar Bear buddy. Coff you and I always seemed to meet out in the water and high-five each other with a Happy New-Year ! I never imagined this would be our last one together. You ,Richard, Charlie,Mike, Sid,and the rest were my buddies every year for the past 30 years. Only you guys in my mind matched my own madness, except of course Doctor Dan... Thanks for being a friend Coff, and always sharing a special word or two with me every year. The Plunge will never be the same with-out you. Say Hi to Duffy for me will ya buddy. Your pal Bryan with the Horns !A

Cindy, Janet, Sharon, and Family,

I was so sad to hear about John. I, like so many others, have such fond memories of our childhood through our adult years....St. Pius CYO, Bay View Proms, Polar Bear Plunges, PC Basketball...

John was a knight in shining armor; a true warrior with a big heart and a lot of class. He will forever be remembered for his bear hugs and his hearty laugh!

Please know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers.

In deepest sympathy, Susan Coppa-Collins
